Bible Study
Studying the Bible is essential for a relationship with God. God has given us His guidelines, thoughts, attributes, and examples of His power in His Word. The Bible says God is the Word (John 1:1). We know that the worlds were formed and all creation came into existence by His Word. He tells us to meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8) and David lets us know what happens to those who do (Ps. 1:2-3). Not everyone is a great reader or academic by nature, so I have listed some tips on how to study the Bible at home for the best growth in your relationship with God.
Note-Taking
I remember from 7th-grade History class, my teacher said on the first day, “Grab a pencil and notebook. Whatever I say will be on the test.” It was our first official day as a middle schooler. Our jaws dropped as we thought of the impossibility of writing everything he said down! To this man, I credit my ability to write quickly and efficiently. I can practically write out a dictation during a sermon! Of course, his methods were to teach us the skill of note-taking for college lectures rather than just to be unfair. Now, I have no problem keeping up with the preacher for my sermon notes and I am sharing some tips I learned on taking efficient notes.
